1. The start of the Lincolnwood Turkey Trot saw more than 1,000 participants hit the streets of Lincolnwood in the 5K and 10K races combined.

2. Chicago's Emisael Favela was the overall winner in the 5K race, cruising to a time of 15:32.

3. Chicago's Susana Martinez (#566), who competes collegiately for UIC, won the women's 5K race in 20:15. This race is an annual tradition for the Martinez family, and Susana was spurred on by a host of family and friends.

4. The Lincolnwood Turkey Trot got "two thumbs up" from this Pilgrim participant.

5. Evanston's Vinny Finneran kicked it in with a time of 19:57, good for 22nd overall in the 5K.

6. Melissa Bauknecht supported the runners out on the course in her seasonal turkey garb.

7. At the age of 54, Orland Park's Sam Cortes was the overall winner in the 10K with a time of 35:16.

8. Chicago's Stephanie Maisel was the women's champion in the 10K with a finish time of 41:25.

9. Race sponsors Universal Sole and Saucony were on hand presenting Saucony gear and cold-weather products to the particpants.
