Sue Wiora, 43, from Hickory Hills, IL and Shawn Passarella, 47, from Burbank, IL, were still in the party mode wearing their New Year's hats (which we noticed were a little crumpled from previous use) at the New Year's 5K fun run in Lincoln Park.

And they're off! Over 200 runners and walkers started 2006 off on the right foot!

Oak Park's Geri Bensen heads down the hill by the Grant Statue. She was the fifth overall woman with a time of 24:13.

Chicago's Emisael Favela rebounded from his second place finish at a race the night before to win (again!) the New Year 5K in 15:58.

Taylor Markanish from Park Forest, IL, was the first woman to cross the line and her time for the 5K race was 19:30.
