1. Nearly 600 runners gathered to ring in the New Year with a 5K run through Lincoln Park at Universal Sole's Resolution Run.

2. The race started at 6 p.m, and the runners lit up the night with their reflective running gear.

3. Race champions Jeremy Borling (15:25) and Petrana Petkova (17:38) proudly display their custom awards, which were Goose Island beer taps mounted as trophies.

4. After the race, Anna Clarkson, race sponsor Len Sitko of Brooks, and race director Paul Peters, geared up for the smoke-free post-race party at Goose Island in Wrigleyville.

5. Goose Island was on hand to refresh participants with their local-brewed beer, root beer and cream soda.

6. Race participants donated a generous amount of food items to the Lakeview Food Pantry at the race site.
