
9-5-05 Runner's Edge Trail Half Marathon - Photo Gallery (Libertyville, IL)
Over 550 participants spent Labor Day running along the
Des Plaines River Trail at the Runner's Edge
Trail Half Marathon in Libertyville.
Scott Jansky, 32, from Two Rivers, WI, came down with his
friend Jason Mayer to run this race for the first time and he
won it in 1:12:14. Mayer finished second overall.
Finishing the half marathon in fine form is Angie Paprockie,
30, from Hoffman Estates, IL, with a time of 1:24:33. Both
she and Jansky used this race as a tune-up for the Fox Cities
Marathon in Appleton, WI, on September 25.
Top local masters runner, Mark Konicek, 43, from West
Dundee, held a 5:53 pace to finish in 1:17:04.
Jeanne Geiger, 41, from Kenosha, WI, completed the course
in 2:40:00.
Ted Lewis, 31, from Naperville, surges through the parking lot right
before the finish. Behind him is Lilly Wieber, 25, from Chicago. Lewis
finished in 1:32:38 and Wieber crossed the line in 1:32:24.
Paul Martin, 33, from London, and Jeremy Hardwick, 24,
from Chicago, are in good form coming toward the
finish. Martin completed the course in 1:40:05 and
Hardwick in 1:40:32.
The "Runners from Naperville" table enjoyed the post race
festivities at Flatlander's Restaurant and Microbrewery and
won some raffle prizes. From left to

1:29:20, Tim Fox, 49, 1:44:09, and Ted Lewis, 31, 1:32:38.
Overall male and female winners received a new pair of
shoes courtesy of race sponsor, Brooks.
The top age groupers received awards that were hand
carved from stone.
