Twin Cities Marathon On-Line Registration Opens May 1
    MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, Minn.--(April 27, 2000)--The Twin Cities Marathon
 on-line registration (marathon only) opens on Monday, May 1. The TCM web
 address is www.twincitiesmarathon.org. The marathon, to be held on Sunday,
 Oct. 8, is limited to 8,000 entrants. Last year, the marathon race sold
 out in May.
     The Registration Kick-Off Party held at the Calhoun Beach Club on
 April 25 resulted in 425 in-person registrations in 3 hours. Race officials
 anticipate that the event will close within weeks and encourage runners
 to register early.
     The marathon weekend will also include the Health & Fitness Expo,
 running seminars, pasta dinner, 5K Fun Run/Walk, Kid's One-Mile Fun Run,
 Kid's Half Mile Fun Run, Toddler Trot and Diaper Dash on Saturday and the
 10-Mile Race before the marathon on Sunday. Registration for the Saturday
 events will be available on June 1 and registration for the 10-mile race
 will begin on July 17. The 10-Mile is limited to 2,500 entrants. Last year
 the field filled in one day.
     For the 10th consecutive year, the Twin Cities Marathon, a Founding
 Member of Running USA, hosts the USA Masters Championship and another
 stellar 40 and over field is expected. Called "the most beautiful urban
 marathon in America", in 1999, it was the 11th largest U.S. marathon with
