Team 20/20 Rally to Feature Brock, Higdon
2000-07-17

A Prevent Blindness America TEAM 20/20 Rally at 6:30 p.m. on Monday,
July 31 will feature special guest speakers Joan Brock and Hal Higdon,
who are teaming up to inspire people to run a marathon to help prevent
 blindness.
The rally, which will be held at the Hotel Sofitel in Rosemont, IL,
is an opportunity to learn more about the TEAM 20/20 marathon training
program which includes free personal training and an all-expenses paid
 trip to Bermuda.
Prevent Blindness America's Team 20/20 members will train for the
ultimate goal of running a marathon, with each stride helping to save the
valuable eyesight of another person. Runners who raise $3500 in donations
and corporate sponsorships will be eligible to compete in the Bermuda
 Marathon in January 2001.
Joan Brock, TEAM 20/20's national spokesperson, lost her eyesight at age
32 due to macular degeneration. She is the author of "More Than Meets the
Eye," and has been sharing her uplifting story of courage, perseverance,
and hope to audiences around the world, including the NBC Today Show.
