Bike to Work Rally draws large crowd; Cyclist wins media challenge

Bike to Work Week ended June 16 with the Bike to Work Rally at Daley Plaza from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thousands of cyclists were in attendance. The Mayor's Office of Special Events and Chase presented the rally, which offered commuters bananas, coffee and water and gave free bike tune-ups courtesy of Village Cycle Center.

As part of the rally, cyclists raced car drivers and public transportation to Daley Plaza in the annual media challenge. Not surprising to the crowds of commuters at the rally, a cyclist was the first media challenge participant to make it to Daley Plaza.
