October 22, 2004 From Press Release
The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation will unveil its new "Top 10
Initiatives"
list that it wants to achieve for all bicyclists in the coming year at its
annual forum. The forum will be held Thursday, October 28, from 5:30
p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St.
5th Floor.Attendees will learn what will be the primary focus of the Chicagoland
Bicycle Federation's bicycle advocacy efforts in the Chicago
metropolitan
area for the next 12 months. Last year's list included upholding the
rights
of bicyclists in the legal system, increasing the organization's role
outside Chicago, improving conditions on regional trails and others. The meeting is open to the public, regardless of membership in the
organization. There is no cost to attend. The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation was founded in 1985 to improve
the
bicycling environment in the seven-county Chicago region. The
Federation
promotes bicycle safety, education, and facilities and encourages the
use of
the bicycle as an energy-efficient, economical and nonpolluting form of
transportation and as a healthful and enjoyable form of recreation. For
