The 2007 Road Runners Club of America Annual Convention will be
held in Chicago from March 21 through 25. All members of the running
community are invited to attend the 50th annual RRCA convention,
which is presented by the Alpine Runners of Lake Zurich, Ill., and Illinois
Runs.
"I look forward to hosting this great event and welcoming all the RRCA
running clubs into our beautiful city of Chicago," said Beth Onines,
RRCA Central Regional Director and Alpine Runner President. "The
RRCA clubs will be able to not only see our beautiful city, but also
network with each other and learn from the expert speakers we have
lined up for our seminars."
The Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Chicago will host the
convention events, which include seminars, receptions, fun runs and the
annual banquet. In its 50 years, the RRCA convention has helped
running clubs share ideas, develop quality race standards and promote
grassroots distance running.
New for 2007 the RRCA convention will introduce the RRCA: Club
College, a group of educational sessions to improve participants'
running club management. Sessions include: managing your nonprofit,
effective financial management and resource development, insurance
and managing risk, and more.
The convention will be held in conjunction with the LaSalle Bank
Shamrock Shuffle 8K, the largest 8K in the country, scheduled for March
25, 2007.
