In its 20-year history, Swim Across America has raised more than $13.5
million for the fight against cancer. Chicagoans did their part to
contribute on July 22
at Ohio Street Beach when they plunged into Lake Michigan for
a .5-mile or 1-mile open swim. All swimmers had to raise at least $300 to
participate, and prizes were awarded to top fundraisers.
