Chicago lawyer and veteran of 300 marathons wins trip to Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon
September 5, 2006
Chicago Athlete

Chicago resident Susan Daley is the winner of Chicago Athlete's contest for a trip for two to this year's Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sept. 24.

"I had registered and made arrangements to run the Quebec City marathon last weekend but had to cancel because of too much work," Daley said. "I am very happy to be going to Toronto!"

Daley ran her first marathon in Chicago in 1991. She has ran more than 300 marathons. "I run very slowly but I finish and have fun," she says. "Because I am an attorney who works a lot of hours, I generally only run marathons and do not have the opportunity to train in between. I average about 2 marathons a month."

Susan and her partner James are on their way to Toronto Waterfront with a strong Chicago-area contingent, led by John "The Penguin" Bingham and Coach Jenny Hadfield from Chicago Endurance Sports. Coach Jenny has done the popular online training program for Toronto Waterfront the past two years.

Online registration is open until midnight on Sept. 19 with guaranteed entry to all U.S. and International runners. Register at www.torontowaterfrontmarathon.com
