The Wrigley Early start 5K/10K races benefited Prevent Child Abuse America and handed out plenty of ice cream after the race, so it was no surprise that kids came along the Lincoln Park races-- in strollers with their parents who ran the race and running the kids races themselves. The highlight of the day was when Vicky Garcia, 11, nabbed a second-place finish in the women's competition. Her bright running career has started early.

Winner Benjamin Goldberg of Chicago finished in 35:55:00.

Elaine Bell of Chicago finished fourth place in the women's competition.

Starting early to raise young runners-- the kids races were very popular.

Rachel Bautista, Ellen Wiese, Suzie Ghosh and Amanda Salo competed in the 5K, then cheered on friends who ran the 10K race.

Rheta Bredesen, Boontaricka Kanaru and Mimi Meehan-O'Henley of Chicago with Cathy Cortez of Tinley Park.

Francisco Guitierrez of Chicago running the 10K.

Vicky Garcia, 11, of Country Club Hills, Ill., placed second in the women's 5K competition with a time of 21:27.

Jennifer Hilding pushed her 5-month-old son Jett during the 5K race.
