Chicago-based company introduces its ZYM electrolyte tablets to national market
From press release
January 24, 2007

BE Innovations has announced the introduction of a new and innovative electrolyte tablet designed for cyclists and other endurance athletes. The Chicago company designed ZYM electrolyte tablets to be a convenient and portable way to stay hydrated without added sugar. The tablets dissolve quickly in a water bottle and provide a balance of electrolytes, Vitamin C and B-vitamins.

"ZYM eliminates the hassle of dealing with messy powders or lugging around bottles of sports drinks," said Brian Koff, BE Innovations President and CEO. "It allows you to contain all of the necessary ingredients for proper hydration in the palm of your hand."

Unique to other electrolyte supplements, ZYM also contains only one gram of sugar and less than 10 calories. Traditional sports drinks flooding today's marketplace focus on sugar as opposed to hydration, Koff says. "These sports drinks result in sugar levels comparable to soft drinks."

Each non-carbonated tablet contains 250 mg of sodium, 50 mg of Magnesium, 50 mg of Potassium, 30 mg of Calcium, 100 mg of Vitamin C, and an array of B-complex vitamins per 16 ounces. The blend is designed to combat fatigue, muscle cramps and lactic acid buildup.

ZYM has a suggested retail price of $7.95 for 10 lemon-time flavored tablets. It can be purchased in the Chicago area at Performance Bike Shop, Erehwon Outfitters, and Presidential Market.
