Survey Targets Avid Runners; Men and Women
From AAOS press release
June 4, 2003

ROSEMONT, Ill-Whether you participate in organized runs or run on your own, this running season, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) wants to know whether or not you have sustained an injury related to your running program.

The AAOS is conducting an on-line survey about running programs, techniques, instruction and injury prevalence to determine the most common types of injuries related to running for men and women. This information will then be used to determine what additional injury prevention guidelines need to be developed.

The survey rates knowledge about running techniques, instruction and safety issues. The survey also asks participants the types of injuries that were sustained, the severity of the injury and how the injury was treated. Results of the survey will be released in September.

To participate in the on-line survey, which runs through July 31, log onto www.aaos.org, select "On your mark, get set, take the 2003 AAOS Running Survey," or click HERE to take the survey now.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons www.aaos.org or www.orthoinfo.aaos.org , is a not-for-profit organization that provides education programs for orthopaedic surgeons, allied health professionals and the public.
