Here is the lineup for the weekend of Friday-Sunday, Aug.
22-24.
The Multisport Fitness Expo will run at the Hyatt Regency
from 3 to 9
p.m., Friday, Aug. 22 and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23.
This is where you
pick up your race packet, learn about the course and browse
around at one of
the top multisport expos in the country.
The McDonald's Kids Triathlon will run from 6 a.m. to
noon at Foster
Avenue Beach. This 12th annual event draws about 750
kids ages 7-14. To
alleviate your fears, parents, the swim is in shallow water,
parallel to the shore.
For kids 7-10, the distances are: 100-meter swim,
4-kilometer bike and 1K run.
For ages 11-14, it's 200M swim, 8K bike and 2K run.
The Fleet Feet Super Sprint Triathlon is a beginner's race
for
competitors 15 and up, also from 6 a.m. to noon at Foster
Avenue Beach. Distances are:
375M swim, 10K bike and 2.5K run. There is a field of 1,000
competitors.
The Accenture Chicago Triathlon starts at 6:30 a.m. at
Montrose Harbor.
Swimmers go parallel to the shore and the exit to the
transition area north
of the harbor. The bike is on Lake Shore Drive and the run
heads down to
Burnham Park before the finish near Buckingham Fountain.
The sprint distances are
.75K swim, 22K bike and 5K run. the international
distances are 1.5K swim,
40K bike and 10K run.

Sunday. Prize
money is $50,000.
