Subaru Chicago Bike Show & Family Fitness Expo Expands Entertainment, Attractions
March 22, 2004

From event press release.

CHICAGO, IL -The largest consumer bike show in the Midwest is coming to Navy Pier! The 2004 Subaru Chicago Bike Show & Family Fitness Expo will showcase even more attractions this year making it the place to go. Dates are Friday, March 26 through Sunday, March 28 in Festival Hall A at Navy Pier.

Back by popular demand is the Extreme Stunt Shows by the DK Bicycles Stunt Team and professional mountain biker Jeff Lenosky of Giant Bicycles/Sram Components. The DK Team of five BMX riders will perform on a ramped course. Lenosky's solo act features the bunny hop (vertical leap with a bike) and other exciting two-wheeled tricks. Both shows are a must for kids - and adults. "We have literally ramped up the entertainment value at this year's Show!" Event Manager Tracy Collings said.

Saturday highlights include two new events: the XXX AthletiCo Bike Swap where you can sell new and used cycling equipment and one of the premier cycling events will hold a race during the show. "We are thrilled to be hosting the ABD Indoor Time Trials series finale this year," Colling said. "It's an opportunity for people to see top local cyclists and cheer on the racers or even enter the event."

"We want to pack as much fun into this show as we can, and we think these attractions will provide great entertainment for Show visitors of all ages." Collings said. Other weekend highlights include the Kids Corral, the Demo area where young and old can test ride bikes, seminars and the popular Closeout Center with over 5,000 new products available at a discount price.

The floor will be loaded with exhibits, activities and information for bike lovers and fitness enthusiasts and is expected to attract big numbers once again. "The show has grown each year since we changed the venue to Navy Pier. Last year we had over 16,000 people, and we expect more than 20,000 this year," Collings said. "The word is out on this show, and we only see it growing." The Subaru Chicago Bike Show and Family Fitness Expo is produced by Chicago Sports Media, publishers of Chicago Athlete Magazine. The show hours are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 26; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 28.
