Community or school organizations can earn some money by
donating their time at the Bank of America Bike the Drive this Memorial
Day weekend.
Any community or school organization - from Girl Scouts to student
councils, from choirs to nonprofits, from knitting circles to hiking
clubs - can make money for their group by signing to volunteer at the
event on May 27 from 4 to 10 a.m.
Eligible groups of 15 volunteers can receive a $300 donation and
groups
of 10 can receive a $200 donation.
Interested organizations must register with Erin Stephens at the
Chicagoland Bicycle Federation before the day of the event. Contact
Erin
at (312) 427-3325, ext. 255 or erin@biketraffic.org.
Blackstone Bicycle Works is bringing a group of about 30 people to the
event to offer mechanical serves at the southern end of Lake Shore
Drive.
"The opportunity for the kids in the program to get out and interact
with so many Chicagoans is really what I am excited about," said Chris
Wallace of the group. "This is a chance for them to see 30 miles of the
city!"
