April 27, 2005
From press release.

The Chicago Area Runner's Association (CARA) is pleased to announce Ann Marie Houlihan as CARA's new Executive Director, effective May 18, 2005. Houlihan, former Assistant Marketing Manager for Gatorade, has a strong background in marketing and financial management.

"Ann Marie Houlihan will bring new ideas and energy to our organization" stated Tom Moran, CARA Board President. "Her extensive marketing skills and experience working at a sports related company will be a great asset to CARA."

Houlihan was employed for seven years by Gatorade, a 40-year old company, known for its fluid replacement beverage for athletes. Gatorade has been a sponsor for CARA's training programs for more than a decade. She holds a B.S. in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology from Northern Illinois University.

Houlihan plans to enhance membership benefits and training programs, and will work towards promoting running and fitness throughout the Chicago area.

"Ann Marie Houlihan has the enthusiasm and experience to lead CARA in a positive direction." Moran said. "She'll make an excellent leader for the running community."
