The Chicago Area Runner's Association (CARA) is pleased
to announce Ann Marie Houlihan as CARA's
new Executive Director, effective May 18, 2005. Houlihan,
former Assistant Marketing Manager for Gatorade, has a
strong background in marketing and financial
management. "Ann Marie Houlihan will bring new ideas and energy to our
organization" stated Tom Moran, CARA Board President.
"Her extensive marketing skills and experience working at a
sports related company will be a great asset to CARA."
Houlihan was employed for seven years by Gatorade, a
40-year old company, known for its fluid replacement
beverage for athletes. Gatorade has been a sponsor for
CARA's training programs for more than a decade. She
holds a B.S. in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology
from Northern Illinois University.
Houlihan plans to enhance membership benefits and
training programs, and will work towards promoting running
and fitness throughout the Chicago area.
"Ann Marie Houlihan has the enthusiasm and experience to
lead CARA in a positive direction." Moran said. "She'll make
an excellent leader for the running community."
