avoid injury."
The CARA program, with over 2300 participants at city and
suburban locations, is the largest in the Chicago area, and
has doubled in size
in the last four years.
"The popularity of the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon has
made this the 'in'
thing to do," Patt noted. "Ordinary people who have never
thought of running this far are
now clamoring to train for the 26.2 mile race."
The free preview will outline the structure of the program -
expert clinics, group
long runs, training texts and schedules, and a special race
day tent, with toilets, water, and
post-race refreshment - and will explain the minimum
requirements to begin proper
training.
