John Bingham Racing on Wednesday announced the new courses for this Sunday's 27th annual Chicago Distance Classic 20K and the University of Illinois Medical Center 5K. The layouts were worked out with the city and finalized over the weekend.

According to event manager Brendan M. Cournane, the new 20K course is comprised of two loops with the start and finish remaining on the UIC campus at Halsted and Harrison Sts.

"We will utilize Lower Wacker Drive from Harrison to Michigan Avenue as well as streets around the University," Cournane said. He emphasized that there will be "lots of shade, plenty of runner services and and a big honkin' medal for all who cross the finish line of the 20K! "

As in previous years, the main beneficiary of the event is the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago.
