A Chance to Run With the Fourth-fastest U.S.
Marathoner On Monday, February 24th, Dick Beardsley, will be at
Universal Sole, 3254 N. Lincoln Ave., for a fun run and
motivational talk .
The evening will start at 6:30 with a 3- to
10-mile
fun run (all paces and abilities are encouraged to
attend). Afterward everyone is encourage to stay and listen
to
Beardsley talk about running, life and his famous "Dual in
the Sun" with Alberto Salazar at the 1982 Boston Marathon.
There will be a short question and answer session
afterward.
Beardsley will also be selling and signing his book
"Staying the Course: A Runner's Toughest Race."
The book recounts Beardsleys' stunning running career
plus his ability to overcome extreme obstacles.
"Dick is such an
amazing speaker, plus, if you are going to run the Boston
Marathon, his talk will give you some insight to one of the
world's greatest marathons," said Paul Peters, owner of
