The 15th Annual Chicago Bike Show & Family Fitness Expo will return to Chicago's Historic Navy Pier Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26, 2006.

New this year will be the Chicago Parent Family Section. Also new will be the complimentary indoor bike valet.

As in previous years, the weekend will offer something for every level of cyclist. The extreme stunt shows will run all weekend long, along with daily seminars hosted by some of the top industry professionals. The closeout center, featuring a large variety of cycling merchandise from area vendors, will once again be one of the largest attractions.

TAKE A LUNCH BREAK ON THURSDAY

RECYCLING BIKES FOR A SOCIAL CHANGE

Since 2001, Chicago-based Working Bikes Cooperative has shipped thousands of bicycles to Nicaragua, Cuba, Kenya, and Ghana. Working Bikes Cooperative will discuss how the mostly volunteer organization recovers landfill-bound bicycles, repairs them to working condition, and sells them in order to fund shipments of bicycles to developing countries.

REGISTRATION OPENS FOR HEALTHY STREET CONFERENCE

This year's conference will give attendees the necessary tools to win Healthy Streets. Local government officials, planners, engineers, health providers and community organizations will learn how reducing speeding and reckless driving creates more livable meighborhoods and safer streets.

PI (3.14) FUN RUN NEXT TUESDAY, MARCH 14TH

Celebrate the mathematical concept of "PI" (3.14) with CARA and Momentum, Tuesday, March 14th at 7:00 pm at Momentum, 2001 N. Clybourn Ave. in Chicago. Runners and walkers will embark on a 3.14 mile fun run/walk before returning to Momentum for, what else, pies of both the pizza and desert variety. The event is free and for all levels.
