THE NEWS
Chris Wehrman, 27, of Chicago, takes his 2:17:50 marathon
PR up north
to the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon on Sunday morning. He
will be in good
company. Five other runners in the field have gone as fast
or faster.
Jackson Omweri, 27, a Kenyan living in Minnesota, appears
to be the
favorite, based on his 2:12, run in 1999. On the women's
side, Carol
LeGate, 40, of Green Bay, and Madeline Tormoen, 41, of
Colorado seem
to be best on paper. There also are half-marathon and 5K
races.
