On Sunday, ESPN's SportsCenter will debut a special piece focusing on Gerry Lindgren, now 59- years-old and head coach of the University of Hawaii women's cross country team. He has been touted as the best U.S. high school runner. During his senior year he ran 5,000 meters in 13:44 setting a U.S. high school record that would remain unbroken until Galen Rupp ran a 13:37 in 2004.
