SCOOP

First World Marathon Majors Series will commence in April 2006 and culminate in November 2007 with a $1 million prize.

QUOTE:
"It's exciting for me as a former athlete, race director, and as a fan of the sport. There are a lot of other things on the drawing board that will continue to elevate and create new opportunities in our industry. It's an honor to be involved with these organizers, events, and other great cities. Collectively we'll be doing some wonderful things in the future," said LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon Executive Director, Carey Pinkowski, at the press conference.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS NORDIC CANCELLED

The January 28 Northern Illinois Nordic XC Ski Race at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton, IL is cancelled for this year. Arrowhead is not groomable, and the several inches of wet snow we have are melting fast. After two previous postponements, it's three strikes and we're out. Wait 'till next year. At this point, there are no plans for a makeup date.
