TOO MUCH WATER?
A recent article in the New England Journal of Medicine has created a
stir about
runners drinking too much water during long distance racing. The article
focuses
on hyponatremia - the condition brought on by drinking too much water
and causing
critically low sodium levels. To read the original article, go to
http://
content.nejm.org.
How much should you drink? How much is too much? A response to the
above article
was written by CARA board member, Dr. Terry L. Nicola, MD, MS. To

article, go to www.cararuns.org/cara_info/hydration.html.
