QUOTE
Glen Ellyn native Popejoy, 52, now a DuPage County associate
judge, remembers Ryun congratulating him and then treating him
to a steak dinner.
"We were all like Roger Bannisters when approaching 4 minutes,"
Popejoy said. "Back then it was really something. There was
still a magic to it in the 1970s. It's still a time that's
known to the general public."
