FORD FLORIDA HALF IRONMAN
May 22, 2005
1.2 mile swim; 56 mile bike; 13.1 mile run

U.S. elites Michael Lavato and Heather Gollnick were the top American finishers at the Ford Florida Half Ironman on Sunday at Walt Disney World Resort. Both finished fourth overall. Gollnick's time was 4:34:17.

Jerry Pianto, M35-39, Chicago, IL - 4:39:25.
Splits: 31:57 (swim), 2:30:21 (bike), 1:30:08 (run).

Karen Grabowski, W25-29, Niles, IL - 4:57:44.

May 22, 2005

Adam Alter (West Lafayette, IN) won the boys elite junior 13-15 race, completing a 375m swim, 10K bike and 2.5K run in 1:12:20. Meghan Lapeta (Downers Grove, IL) won the girls race in 1:15:30.

WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER? AREA CODE FUN RUN

Momentum and CARA present a free fun run with a twist at the AREA CODE FUN RUN on Thursday, June 2 at 7 p.m. Runners will meet at Momentum at 2001 N. Clybourn Ave. in Chicago and will run along a course that traces the 312 and 773 area codes ending at Goose Island on Clybourn for none other than an ice cold pint of Goose's new 312 beer. Along the route, runners will encounter surprises incorporating the other Chicago area codes.
