CLOSER
ENDURANCE MAN
Keith Kipling of Evanston was the first Illinois finisher at the Western
States
100 Mile Endurance Run last weekend, crossing the line in 23 hours, 13
minutes,
and 21 seconds. Not bad for a day's work, huh? Here's what Keith had
to say
about
the race:
"This year's Western States was a complete surprise - I never expected
to
finish
because of an injury from the Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 Mile
Run last
May.
This was also my first WS so I didn't know what to expect. There is a lot
of
hype
overall with the run - it is, in many ways, the Boston of the ultra world."
