Triathletes can register or if they're already registered, can pick up their race packet at Running Away in Chicago this Sunday, August 14; Athletes who do this will be permitted to rack their bikes on Sunday August 21. All other participants are required to rack their bikes on Saturday August 20.

DINO Off Road Mountain Bike Series #5
July 31, 2004 - Logansport, IN

At the Logansport Hammer Fest in France Park, the lead pack of Expert/ Pro men held a super fast average speed of nearly 16 mph. Kris Lasure (Bike Line) held on for a 30 second win over Chris Bowman (Moore / Gray Goat), and David Wagoner (Cycle Masters) was a close third. Erin Disterheft (Team Billy) topped the women's Expert field, with a time of 1:26:14 for 19 miles. Following Disterheft was Melanie Fitz (Kenda Tire), the current series leader for Expert Women.

William Toler posted his first Sport class win and Rhonda Stevens added another win to her streak in the Sport Women's division. A familiar duo of Brian Milburn and Travis Sims stood atop Beginner Men's podium, and Loretta Huckstep claimed Beginner Women. Clydesdale rider Trevor Miller won again, building toward the series title. WOMEN'S CYCLING SERIES AT ALBERTO'S IN HIGHLAND PARK

On Sunday, August 14 at Alberto's in Highland Park there will be a cycling seminar/training session for women cyclists with the feature presentation: "Fueling and Hydrating for Endurance Events" by reknown nutritionist, Monique Ryan.

C'MON IT'S A PARTY FOR RUNNERS

CARA is hosting a fundraiser and social mixer at Jack Sullivan's Public House, 2142 N. Clybourn Ave. in Chicago, on Thursday, August 25 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The cost of admission is $35, which includes beer, wine, and soda. There will also be a raffle with items including two complimentary race entries to P.F. Chang's Rock N' Roll Arizona Marathon, a free Pilates lesson at Frog Temple, a gift certificate to any John Bingham racing event (i.e. next year's Chicago Distance Classic), four Tickets to the Sept. 28 Cubs game, four tickets to Sept. 24 Sox game, and gift certificates to Niketown, Fleet Feet Sports, Running Unlimited, Runners Edge, and Momentum.
