MOMENTUM CELEBRATES 1ST BIRTHDAY FUN RUN

THE WEEKEND AHEAD

RUNNER'S EDGE TRAIL HALF MARATHON
This race starts at the Old School Forest Preserve (Grove D) in Libertyville, IL and the course runs along the Des Plaines River trail with a post race party at Flatlander's Brewery. PARK FOREST SCENIC 10 MILE
The 28th Annual Park Forest Scenic 10 Mile Run will take place on Monday, September 5 at 8 a.m. in Park Forest, IL. The famous "race with the string quartet" will go through the forest preserves of Cook County with an expected 16- 18 musical surprises along the way to entertain the field of nearly 2,000 runners. There is also a 5K race and children's races. This year the invited field of athletes has its usual international flavor with athletes from South Korea, Kenya, Ukraine, Russia, Australia and several top US athletes. There is over $20,000 in prize money and awards available.

CLOSER - HURRICANE VICTIM HELP

PARK FOREST SCENIC 10 - RED CROSS
This just in from Bud James with the Park Forest Scenic 10: I just wanted to let you know that we are trying to help the hurricane victims by taking up monetary collections at the pre-race clinic and packet pickup on Sunday at Village Hall in Park Forest from 1 to 4 p.m. and again on raceday, Monday, September 5. The American Red Cross will be there both days to take up the collection
