HERE'S ANOTHER CHANCE FOR SOME LAST MINUTE MARATHON TIPS

Universal Sole, 3254 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago, is hosting a free clinic to hear Chicago's "Mr. Marathon," Mark Buciak, share his veteran marathon tips, experiences and expertise on Sunday, October 2nd at 5 p.m. Buciak has finished 49 marathons, including 26 Boston Marathons in a row - he remains the youngest person to accomplish such a consecutive running streak at Boston. U.S. DUATHLETES NAB 11 WORLD MEDALS

U.S. age group duathletes took 11 medals away from the International Triathlon Union Duathlon World Championships on Sunday in Newcastle, Australia. The U.S. women won seven medals, including two gold, while the men secured four medals, including a bronze medal won by David Walters from Lisle, IL, in the 50- 54 age group (2:18:47).

CHICAGOLAND BICYCLE FEDERATION HAS SOME NEW DIGS

The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation is moving its offices effective Oct. 1, to 9 W.Hubbard St., Ste. 402, Chicago, IL 60610-6545. The move to the River North neighborhood keeps the organization close to Chicago City Hall, while remaining easily accessible to members and others seeking its services. Highlights of the new office include desks crafted from recycled materials, wheelchair access, and a more spacious and efficient area for office volunteers.

CHICAGO HALF MARATHON HUMAN SPIRIT AWARD - WENDY COPELAND

The 2005 recipient of the Chicago Half Marathon's Human Spirit Award was Wendy Copeland from Palatine, IL. Two years ago, Wendy began an exercises program, ate healthy food and naturally lost more than 150 pounds. Last fall, she finished her first 5K, and on Sunday, Wendy ran the Chicago Half Marathon with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, raising $6,000 in the memory of her friend Dave Wicklund.
