Bally Total Fitness Offers Open Invitation to Work Off Turkey Day Dinners For Free on "Feeling Fat Friday"
November 9, 2005
From Press Release

Overeating on Thanksgiving has become an annual tradition in homes across the country, and one of life's justified guilty pleasures. In fact, the average American consumes 2,600 calories and 86 grams of fat during a typical Thanksgiving dinner - the equivalent to eating 16 slices of pepperoni pizza!

On November 25 -- "Feeling Fat Friday" -- Bally Total Fitness will open its doors to the public, free-of-charge, to encourage everybody to work off their Thanksgiving dinner and stay fit and healthy this holiday season.

Although new research from the National Institutes of Health shows that the average American gains slightly less than one pound during the Thanksgiving through New Year's holiday season, this extra weight tends to stick around causing one to be overweight later in life. Bally health and fitness experts will be available on "Feeling Fat Friday" to offer tips on avoiding the weight gain pitfalls of the holiday season.

Bally welcomes adults of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels to visit any of the more than 420 Bally Total Fitness clubs across the nation to make fitness a Thanksgiving tradition.
