Fleet Feet Sports Announces Its $10,000 Illinois Runners' Scholarship Fund for High School Seniors, Beginning in 2006

Chicago, Ill. (May 13, 2005) - Fleet Feet Sports is happy to announce the grand opening of its newest store at 124 E. Schiller Street in Elmhurst. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18th, and the festivities will include raffles, giveaways, and special guests, followed by a two to six mile fun run.

The grand opening of Fleet Feet Sports in Elmhurst marks the third Fleet Feet location in the Chicagoland area. After much demand from suburban patrons wanting an alternate Fleet Feet location outside of Chicago, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to reach out to the suburban communities. Fleet Feet Sports looks forward to forging a long-standing relationship with the town of Elmhurst and the surrounding communities and their residents.

In addition to the grand opening of the store, Fleet Feet Sports will also use it as an opportunity to announce their $10,000 Illinois Runners' Scholarship Fund, to be awarded as four $2,500 scholarships to Illinois high school seniors going on to college in state, beginning with the classes of 2006. It is in this capacity that Fleet Feet will make use of a grant given to businesses that open in and draw business to Elmhurst. The scholarship is designed to encourage athletic leadership and academic excellence while encouraging higher education for Illinois students.
