Friends of Chicago River Host Public Paddle This Saturday on North Branch
September 10, 2003
From press release.

The Friends of the Chicago River will host a public canoe tour this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the North Branch of the river. Trained canoe guides will guide participants through the mild bends and brambles on the North Branch from the Skokie Lagoons on through the wild woods of Blue Star Memorial Woods, Harms Woods, and Miami Woods, as the river heads south toward Chicago.

"This is a great opportunity to view wildlife and birds in Chicago's backyard," said Margaret Frisbie of the Friends of the Chicago River.

A box lunch will be provided for each paddler at the take-out. All equipment will be provided by the Friends. Some paddling experience is recommended. Cost is $50 per person ($40 for members). Call 312-939-0490 ext. 10 to make a reservation or check out www.chicagoriver.org/
