LUNAFEST Comes to DePaul This Friday, Jan. 16
From Press Release
January 15, 2004

LUNAFEST, a national festival of films by, for or about women, will return to DePaul University this Friday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. The films will be shown at the Student Center, 2250 N. Sheffield Ave. LUNAFEST is presented in Chicago by the DePaul women's Center and Women's Student Program. Cost is $5 for students, $7 for others.

In addition to providing national exposure for emerging women filmmakers, LUNAFEST also supports one of the most important causes for women today by donating proceeds from the festival to The Breast Cancer Fund (TBCF).

LUNAFEST will travel to more than 25 locations in 2003, growing from an eight-city tour when it launched in 2001. As part of its goal to generate awareness of women's issues, LUNAFEST has raised more than $25,500 for TBCF.

LUNAFEST accepts films in a variety of genres and has featured works as diverse as documentaries and animated shorts to dance narratives. Films embody a wide range of topics, and include issues such as women's health, sexuality, spirituality, cultural diversity, body image and the environment.
