Universal Sole Resolution Run 5K, 6 p.m., Lincoln Park on
Cannon Drive
between Diversey and Fullerton. This race is growing every
year and will be the
prelude to a smoke-free party at Goose Island Wrigleyville
that will feature

Glenwood, Chicago.
This event is on the laid-back side, but you still get a good
workout before

NEW YEAR'S DAY (Thursday)
New Years' Day 5K Run/Walk, 11 a.m., Lincoln Park at
Stockton and LaSalle Dr,
Chicago.
This is a fun run with overall trophies, but no age-group
competition. There

Polar Bear Swim, noon, North Ave. Beach. You only have to
go in the water
for about 30 seconds, but you must submerge yourself to be
"official," according
to event organizer Leesa Drake. Bring warm clothes. No
westsuits allowed!
