Northern Illinois Nordic Switched to Sunday, January 23
January 20, 2005
From press release.

The Northern Illinois Nordic (NIN) cross-country ski races have been rescheduled and are a GO -- if we get the big snow -- for 10 a.m. Sunday, January 23 at Woodruff Golf Course, 621 Gougar Road, Joliet.

Open to cross-country skiers of all abilities, the 8th annual NIN also is designed for beginners who might be strong triathletes, runners, swimmers or cyclists, but haven't tried Nordic ski racing. There are 18K and 7K options as well as a 3.5K kids event. Ths race also is timed on the schedule as a perfect buildup for skiers doing next month's Subaru American Birkebeiner in Hayward, WI.

The NIN race had been planned for Saturday, but it was determined that with heavy snow and high winds in the forecast, it would be difficult to groom the course and unsafe for participants driving to Joliet.

See www.signmeup.com/29369 for details.
