Cheryl Roberts and Carl Carlson win RecPlex 2007 Triathlon Championship
From press release
April 26, 2007
Chicago Athlete

Cheryl Roberts and Carl Carlson won the RecPlex 2007 Triathlon Championship on April 22 with their finishes in the RecPlex's Indoor/Outdoor Triathlon. Roberts, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., was the female champion with 300 out of 300 points, and Carlson, of Kenosha, Wis., was the male champion with 292.26 out of 300 points.

The RecPlex Triathlon Championship is based on overall finishes in three races: two indoor triathlons in January and March (10-minute swim, 20-minute bike, 15-minute run) and an indoor/outdoor triathlon in April (400 yard swim, 8-mile bike, 2.3-mile outdoor run). Points accumulate based on race finish compared to the top male or female winner in each race, with a maximum of 100 points per race.

Roberts was the first place female winner in all three races and first overall finisher in the January and March races. Carlson was the first-place male winner in the January race, and won his age group in March and April. They were awarded championship trophies and a $150 American Express gift card for their wins.

The RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., is the site of the Chicagoland Danskin triathlon in July and the Pleasant Prairie triathlons in August.
