Resolution Run 5K Set for New Year's Eve

December 16, 2002

From Race Press Release.

Looking for a New Year's Eve Run and party?
How about good entertainment from one of the region's best bands?
And better yet . . . how about a party that includes a smoke-free bar?

The Resolution Run 5K, sponsored by Universal Sole running store, is set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, on the lakefront path. Start and finish are between Diversey and Fullerton, just east of Cannon Drive. Entry fee is $30 and includes a long-sleeved, moisture-wicking 3Therma-Tec2 shirt from Brooks.

The post-race party will start at 9 p.m. at the Bottom Lounge (AKA: Lakeview Links) at 3206 N. Wilton, which is close to the Belmont 3El2 stop. Entertainment will be provided by Underwater People, featuring lead singer Jim DiDomenico, an avid runner and cross-country skier.

Cost to attend the party is $75. It includes open bar, champagne toast and full buffet. The upstairs bar will be smoke-free.

A portion of registration fees will benefit A Sporting Chance Foundation, a Chicago-based non-profit organization, which provides and promotes sports and fitness opportunities for girls to enhance their physical well-being, self-esteem, leadership and team-building skills.
