Ryan Hall Finishes Fifth in London
Ryan Hall set an impressive PR over the weekend with a time of 2:06:17
at the London Marathon. His effort landed him in fifth place (first
amongst Americans) and will set the bar for his upcoming Beijing
Olympic hopes. Hall was in the lead pack throughout the first half of the race and was on
course to break the course record (as it was, he ended up with the
fastest fifth place time in London Marathon history), but by mile 23 Hall
admitted that he had thought about dropping out because of race-
related difficulties and his pace slowed. Martin Lel won his third London Marathon in four years by clocking a
course record of 2:05:15.
