Fleet Feet Sports Announces a 3,000 Race Cap

Fleet Feet Sports is proud to announce the designation of the Fleet Feet Sports Soldier Field 10 Mile presented by Dominick's, on Saturday, May 28, 2005, as the 2005 USATF- Illinois Championship at the 10 Mile Distance.

This race will also have a $2,000 total purse at stake in the following denominations for male and female finishers:

First Place: $500
Second Place: $250
Third Place: $125
Fourth Place: $75
Fifth Place: $50
.

The only race to finish inside the grounds of Soldier Field, with a spectacular race finish on the 50-yard line of Soldier Field, and the broadcast of the winners and participants on the Soldier Field north and south Jumbotron Screens, the race has proven itself to be unparalleled in the Chicago area. The race is on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, and pays respect to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Pre-race activities will include the presentation of the American flag by a military Color Guard and a moment of silence. All of this in the awesome shadow of Soldier Field, Chicago's largest and most well known war memorial.

Due to the overwhelming success of this race, and in order to provide the best possible race experience for each participant, Race Management has determined the need to cap the Soldier Field 10 Mile at 3,000 entrants.
