Specialized 2D helmets recalled
December 19, 2007
Chicago Athlete

Consumers may receive replacement or refund
Specialized brand bicycle helmet model 2D is being recalled. The model was sold in men's and women's models from July 2007 to October 2007 for approximately $200.

Consumers may return the helmet to any authorized Specialized retailer to receive a full replacement or a full refund. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says that riders should immediately stop using the 2D helmet.

The helmets are being recalled for failing the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets. "This can pose a head injury hazard to riders in a fall," the Commission said in a press release.

For additional information, contact the Specialized recall hotline at (877) 808-8154 or visit www.specialized.com
