Scenic "Tour de Chicago" Charity Bike Ride Set for May 14

CHICAGO--Tour de Chicago, a 25-mile scenic charity bike ride sponsored by the Chicago Police Department and benefiting the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation and National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14.

Now celebrating its second year and touted as a ride the whole family can enjoy, among the riders will be Chicago and suburban police officers.

The ride's start and finish is Chicago police headquarters, 3510 S. Michigan Avenue. The ride will then travel south to 59th Street and traverse Washington Park and Hyde Park before heading back north along Chicago's lakefront to Lincoln Park. From there it will travel back south along the lakefront before returning to 35th and Michigan.

Riders will have the opportunity to see numerous Chicago landmarks along the course route. Registration is $25 per person prior to the event and $30 on event day. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
