Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team to Make a Chicago Appearance
3-17-08
Chicago Athlete

The Chicago Bike Show -- the largest consumer bike show in the country -- expects two members of the Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team to be in attendance for the March 29-30 event. Team members Jose Manuel "Chepe" Garcia and Ivan Stevic will be signing autographs and meeting fans at the Toyota booth of the Chicago Bike Show in Rosemont (near O'Hare Airport).

Garcia is a two-time Mexican National Champion who won the national road race championship in 1996 and the country's 4,000-meter individual pursuit in 1997.

Stevic is a relatively new face in North America (having only been racing in the circuit since 2005), But for the last three years, Stevic has been destroying the competition and wowing throngs of fans across the United States (17 top three finishes in 2007). After winning the UCI B World Road Race Championships in Cape Town, Africa, Stevic won an automatic berth to the 2008 Olympic Games.

In addition to meeting these two cycling giants, Chicago Bike Show visitors will be able to purchase bikes on closeout sale, meet top vendors and see extreme athletes perform live stunts.
